A Blessing for the Fire-Hearted

A poetic blessing inspired by Ephesians 4:26- This, to me, isn't about finishing your argument before the sun goes down. Rather, it's about returning to love even in that anger. And I don't mean resolving every issue with your loved ones by sunset. It means that at the end of the day, you are invited to step into the Holy One's arms even in your anger and despair. Especially then. This passage is about not letting your anger separate you from holy love.

You who still bear witness,
You who scream into pillows,
You who weep in bathroom stalls and write poetry on the backs of receipts—

May your rage stay holy.
May your weariness be honored.
May you never mistake breaking open for breaking apart.

You are allowed to be tired.
You are allowed to be undone.
You are allowed to let others carry you for a while.

The Spirit is groaning with you.
The fire is still burning.
You are not alone.

Mercy. Always.
